FAQs
- Why is the advising model changing?
We listened to student leader feedback and recognized opportunities to strengthen mentorship, streamline support, and create a more development-focused advising experience.
- Will my current advisor change?
Some organizations may continue working with their current advisor, while others may transition based on the new structure. More details will be shared during info sessions.
- What should I look for in a new advisor?
Any full-time faculty or staff member of Rutgers University–New Brunswick. This should be someone who supports your organization's purpose and values and is:
A mentor who is invested in student leadership growth
A consistent communicator
Someone who can provide guidance, not just approval
Remember — advisors are partners in your success, not just signatories.
