- Take a stroll across the Kissing Bridge
Visit Ravine Bridge, also called the “Kissing Bridge,” on the Douglass campus that was engineered by the same firm that built the Brooklyn and George Washington Bridges.
- Volunteer for impactful Community Service
Participate in RUPA’s Scarlet Day of Service, donate to Winter Wishes, or track your service efforts in the Arc. Giving back to the local & regional community is a way to gain power skills, experience new things, and make meaningful connections!
- Visit the Rutgers Gardens
Rutgers Gardens is a 180-acre public garden off Ryders Lane that includes a rhododendron and azalea display garden, an ornamental tree collection, bamboo forest, a student farm and farmer's market. It’s an ideal spot to escape to for a peaceful walk and some breathtaking views.
- Influence the student experience with RUSA
Rutgers University Student Assembly meetings occur every Thursday at 7:30 PM in the Student Activities Center (SAC) on the College Avenue Campus. Whether you’re a first-year student or a senior, it is never too late to shape the Rutgers undergraduate experience.
- Stay informed with the Daily Targum
Founded in 1869, The Daily Targum is the second-oldest and among the largest college news organizations in the nation. Visit dailytargum.com for up to date Rutgers news written and managed by other students!
- Attend an on-campus program (or create one with RUPA)
The Rutgers University Programming Association is a council of students who plan events ranging from craft nights to the annual Beats on the Banks concert. Follow RUPA on instagram @RUPArutgers for upcoming events or information on how you can join!
- Enjoy the Rutgers Farm

Looking for a spot to see some fine art or a quiet space to study? Visit the Zimmerli Art museum on College Avenue.

Visit sca.rutgers.edu to check out the hours of operation, amenities, or events happening in each space and find your favorite spot. Each center has its own identity and reflects the history and culture of each campus.
- Take a break and have some fun at the Rutgers Zone
Play video games or shoot some hoops at the Rutgers Zone in the Livingston Student Center and while you’re there, pick up some Thomas Sweets ice cream.
- See the mastodon at the Rutgers Geology Museum
Visit the Geology museum on College Avenue, founded in 1872, which features a 12-foot-tall, fully articulated mastodon skeleton from the ice age!
- Learn the Rutgers fight song and alma mater (and sing them as loud as possible)

- Take a walk around Passion Puddle
Visit Cook/Douglass for a perfect picnic or study spot. According to a long-standing legend, if a male student from Cook College and a Douglass College woman held hands and walked around the pond three times, they would be married and live happily ever after.

Whether you’re a competitive gamer or just looking to try something new, stop by the Rutgers Esports Center in the College Avenue Student Center. Play with friends, participate in esports events, or check out the gaming equipment available to Rutgers students
